The Story of Free Duolingo Prep Course

On June 28, 2024, the Jawana Foundation launched an exciting new initiative aimed at empowering Afghan girls through education: the Free Duolingo Prep Course. This program is designed for approximately 15 students, with the goal of preparing them for the Duolingo English Test and subsequently assisting them in applying for international scholarships. Recognizing the immense potential of Afghan girls who have been deprived of educational opportunities, we are committed to helping them continue their studies abroad and pursue their dreams.

The response to the launch of our program was overwhelming. Within just one week of opening applications, over 400 students applied to participate. After a thorough review process, our team shortlisted around 85 students and decided to conduct an entrance exam to select the most deserving candidates for the course.

Thanks to the generous support of one of our partner, the Kabul-Cambridge Institute, we were able to hold the entrance exam on Thursday, July 11. Our team is currently working diligently to evaluate the exam papers and announce the final results as soon as possible.

Their support has been instrumental in making this initiative a success, and we look forward to continuing our collaboration to create more opportunities for Afghan girls.
